For "extra" nibbles -   ...... buy a stick of celery (or 1/2 one...) run knife or potato peeler down "rough side" to get rid of stringy bits .......ok - then fill "hollow"  part of celery stalk with Philladelphia Cream cheese ... sprinkle lightly with Paprika...and cut on angles into  "bite size" pieces ....serve on lettuce leaf .....people luv' em! Simple!

We also have Scottish New Year lunch. The tradional Scottish steak pie with neeps, followed by trifle. When I was growing up, we had to stay awake till midnight on New Year‘s Eve and there was nibblies like shortbread, and whisky.

Hogmanay steak pie!

Let us not forget....

..forget what?

Hmmm -  thought sitting down at the table for a couple of hours and wrapping pressies would be kinda "theraputic" !  lol  Far from it!!!  Sharp corners on some boxes even tear the most quality of wrapping papers - sticky tape gets stuck to me (instead of the gifts) - I have never been able to cut "straight" in my entire life (that goes for bread as well....) and what's with metallic "curling ribbon" that doesn't "curl"??

Yeah I know - whinge whinge - and apologies!  :-)   Am seriously grateful to be celebrating Xmas and my heart goes out to those people in terrible circumstances right now around the world who for a myriad of reasons - won't be!  John Lennon - thank you for writing "Imagine" (you would be happy that so many millions still think of you throughout the years - past and present - and you would be so very sad if you were able to "see" the world as it is today!  Maybe you can???  Who knows ...............?

Never mind Foxie, here's one for you

Sandi ....just saw your lovely "cyber-hug" -  (have not been here since 2.19pm yesterday) -  many thanks and a BIG Xmas "Fox"  hug back!   Cheers  :-)

I have driven myself and hubby mad looking for some little Xmas baskets I have put away somewhere.

Told him to stop looking and not worry about it.

Of course he took no notice of me and kept looking and just walked in and said "I kept on looking for those baskets and guess what I found?"   The sod had found some chocolates I had bought him for Xmas.  I had not wrapped them up and had them hidden behind a vase of flowers.

Old snip the snoop found them.  I was cranky as my surprise was spoiled ...of course he thought it was funny!!!
