Does anyone own a Weber?

Our 4 burner bbq is still in very good condition but uses too much gas.

Want to buy a Weber.   Went and had a look and came away confused as to which model to buy.

Does anyone have one and could give me some advice plse?.  Dont want to buy too small a one and was thinking maybe the top of the range is too big for us but you never know if you will have a number around for a bbq and the hot plate appears to be a bigger.

Bought this one on line a couple of months ago, recommended by choiuce, found a picture on line. We've been using it every weekend, just great

"Webers are for Plebers" ! lol lol - oh come on - what else u spect the Fox to say???   lol lol lol - apparently they are really good!  Go for it!    :-)

Thank you Micha.  Did you buy the top of the range model with the thermostat andthe Electronic infinite igniter?

Radish, I bought the exact one in the pic it cooks for an army 15-20 people. It doesn't come with a thermostat, but then again it's not really a necessity, you can buy that separately if you wish. It does come with the electronic igniter. Cheers.

Although mine is not a Webber - it does have the Electronic infinite igniter which is magic.

I do like the wheels on that Weber for mobility as well as the resting sides

Mine has only one rest but does have a gas element on the other side which is useful for stir fries or if you only want to cook for one.

When i have to replace it I think I will buy a Weber too.

Have you shopped around for prices yet Radish ?

Thanks Misha.

Abby, yes, I went last weekend.  They were having a demo of how to cook on them.  They had three set up, one to cook pizza, one a turky and one for steaks.

We should have gone a bit later as we did not have the time to stand around and wait for these things to cook and he was slow at getting it underway and it was on lunchtime.  We waited around for a while but left as we were standing in the hot sun and no shade at all.

.

BabyQ is $289, Baby Q next model up is $299, Q2000 is $189, Q2200 is $399.   These models do not have a trolley with them...that is extra.  The $299 one and Q2200 have thermometers.

The  Family Q3100 is $689 (does not have thermometer)

The top model Family Q3200 is $699 and has everything.  The cooking plate on the largest models is 2400cm.  The next size down is 1800 and when you get to the baby Q's their cooking area is 1200.

There you go Abby, you have all the info I have ;).   I dont think they ever discount or if they do it is usually marginal and I think they just give you accessories in lieu of an actual discount.

Real cooks cook on charcole or heat beads....gas is for nuff nuffs

.. yessss - just loveee the charcoal flavour on steaks etc.!   :-)

Radish, my daughter has the small one.  It cooks easily for 4 people, but if you have more then she has to cook in batches.  So if you are having more people then I suggest you go for the larger one.

She loves hers but, on the other hand I have the large charcoal/heat beads Webber ( one of the first ones that came out, and still going strong) and I love it.  Gives a much different flavour to what you cook.

Thank you Sandi for replying to my post.   That is the information  I was after...I think I may go for the medium size one.

Did you buy a Weber for Christmas, Radish?

No Phyl, in the New Year I think we will :)
