How do you feel about a female 007?

gillian anderson could play the next 007

How would you feel if a time-honoured classic 'lad' such as James Bond were to be played by a woman instead? Well, with Daniel Craig stepping down from the role, according to a report by the Daily Review, a female 007 could be a possibility.

The article Gillian Anderson as a female James Bond is the best idea Hollywood ever had claims that the X Files star is more than willing to take on the role, going so far as to tweet herslef on a 007 poster (pictured).

Personally, I'd love to see this happen, but what do you think of this idea? Would you be happy with a femme fatale 007?

:) Not if it meant the ever-so-sexy Night Manager (also rumoured to be in contention) didn't get the role.

;) Speaking as a female of course.

Nah, not Gillian Anderson, Halle Berry or Meryl Streep.  Must be a strong looking woman so why not go the whole hog and have a black woman. Like Taraji P Henson, she was great in Empire.

Image result for Taraji P. Henson

Never  liked Daniel Craig anyway. Best James Bond was good ole Sean Connery

I don't think I'd get used to a female 007...it just won't be the same.

Certainly agree with you Ray...Sean Connery was definitely the best!

I would hate to see a female 007. Leave all the blood and guts to the guys. Nothing feminine about women bashing up gansters and high speed car races. Sean Connery was the best, very suave, with seductive eyes., love a man with a hairy chest.

It's funny. I've always loved the Connery Bond, but when I got home last night, my other half had on Live and Let Die, and you know, the young Roger Moore was pretty good too.

I would like to see Tom Hiddleston play the new Bond, but I'm not 100 per cent sold. He is a great actor though.

George Clooney 007 for me :)

Abby -  Yes< I forgot about Georgie Boy.  A strong contender for the title. Didn't like  Roger Moore, a little too poofy for me.

Michelle Pfeiffer or Sharon Stone would nicely do.

I'll vote for Angelina Jolie.  Breasts or no breasts!

It's already been done: The Long Kiss Goodnight - 1966 - Geena Davis.

Roger Moore was terrible and that other one Brosnan not much better. Not sure Anderson would be a good fit for the role.

George Lazamby and Timothy Dalton not much better either.

Nope. Just doesn't cut it.

But knowing Hollywood they'll play around with it until the franchise finally burns itself out with the James Bond actor becoming a trasngender pretty boy from Thailand.

I'm a female and NO! James Bond is James Bond! ( actually, to me, Sean Connery IS James Bond!) yes, I'm old!

why do females think they gave to take over everything!  Somethings just " are"! Leave them

theyd be better learning a bit of " dignity" earning a bit if " respect"!   There was once upon a time when men respected women!  I don't mind them wanting equality but there are some who are taking it too far!  Let men be men and women be women!   Poor darn men are confused these days!  And a lot of young girls wouldn't know how to " act like a lady" if their lives depended on it!  If they did, then maybe they woukd earn some respec!!

theyd

Funny Face -   I said to my boys that if I was a man I would hate to be trying to find a nice girl today. Nothing worse that an independant woman who knows more than a bloke. You see these woman dressed up as tarts showing off all and sundry and loud, nothing worse that a drunk woman. My friend's daughter was holding a Hen's Night for the Bride and they had a man poseing naked and all the women had to draw a part of the man's body on a paper and then assemble all the parts together, they seemed to think this was hilarious. Just as bad as men having stippers at a Buck'snight. Call me a prude, but I can't see anything funny about that.

Yep! Bring it on! Some of the best Spies......& Most Successfull were Women.

LOVE THE IDEA!

But would prefer her to be 009......leave 007 for Male Actors!

009 COULD BE THE BEGINNING OF A WHOLE NEW FRANCHISE!

Plenty of room fot BOTH!

I'm a female, a feminist, an actor, but somehow I think this is one of those gig that belongs to a guy! I think it would seem so odd for a female to be saying 'shaken not stirred!' and so many of the other Bond phrases.  This is a secret agent of an era.  There are plenty of thrilling films and stories about the women who became spies.  Should we be suggesting that those roles should then be handed to males?    I agree with the comment above.  Make it a new character, rather than shattering the image attributed to James...

have never watched a BOND movie,    so i dont care,   but from what i have read of the films,   i think it belongs to  man,
