A slap on the wrist
Bali Boy, 2 months jail, Convicted, Guilty, Drugs, Australian

You all know the story. A 14-year-old Australian boy was arrested in Bali on October 4 for buying drugs outside a supermarket near Kuta Beach. ‘He is too young to know better’ is the first thought that comes to the mind of most people. However, I think back to my teenage years and, whether it was my upbringing, or the fact that my parents taught me better, there would be no way I would even consider committing a crime overseas.

He has been lucky and received a sentence of 2 months in jail, which means he will be released in a week because of previously served time spent in custody. Is this enough? Will he learn from the experience? I personally think an extra month behind bars (the amount the prosecution was asking for) would do him the world of good.

Whald on earth were the parents thinking to allow a 14 year old boy to go alone to supposedly get a massage? He must be the only 14 year old boy interested in this!! The parents should refund whatever money it has cost the Australian Government. They blatantly disregarded the golden rule of respecting the laws of another Country. They should also be sent to Parenting classes.
