Kate Ceberano sings an Aussie fave

Multi ARIA award winning artist Kate Ceberano has come a long way since her days as a backing singer in the Aussie pop band The Models and as a 15-year-old singing sensation fronting her own pop funk band I’m Talking.

After her early success with I’m Talking, which included five consecutive hit singles, a platinum debut album, Bear Witness, and a swag of awards for both her and the band, Kate went on to an incredibly successful solo career that hardly needs promotion.

She’s been in the business for more than 35 years – writing and performing jazz and pop music – and now has seven platinum and seven gold albums to her name.

She’s performed the role of Mary in Jesus Christ Superstar, performed more than 80 arena shows, hosted talent shows and even participated in one or two herself.

Kate has barely drawn breath since those early days, racking up 27 albums to be the most prolific Australian female recording artist of this era.

In 2014, she became the first woman inducted into the Australian Songwriters’ Association (ASA) Hall of Fame and, in 2016, made the Queen’s Birthday Honours List, becoming a member of the Order of Australia.

Suffice to say, Kate has done it all, and today she’s performing for you from her lounge room during lockdown.

Not only is she (and a special young talent) playing a couple of her hits, she also covers an Aussie rock classic for you.
