A recent report in the Harvard Business Review, reprinted in Australia in Boss magazine, confirms that older workers can achieve the same productivity levels as their younger colleagues – they just need to be given the opportunity. A pilot project using BMW workers in Dingolfing, Lower Bavaria, created a year-2017 demographic mix and managed health care, training, processes and time policies to see if productivity could be maintained by working smarter rather than “younger” or harder.
