How to use Issuu

Font Size:

The YourLifeChoices eGuide moved to a new format last year, hosted by a new page-turning platform called Issuu. While the new format is quite user friendly, based on feedback we felt it was necessary to explain how to use Issuu to maximise your experience in reading our publication.

Menu Bar

Located at the bottom of the page, the menu bar is your guide to navigating our eBook with ease. The menu bar will allow you to zoom in, turn pages, search for specific words in the eGuide and read the eGuide in full-screen mode.

Zoom button

Move your mouse cursor over the circle icon and hold down left-click with your mouse. Drag the circle icon to the right and you will see the page starting to zoom in on the content, making the words and photos larger. You can move up or down the page by moving your mouse in the desired direction. When you are done reading an article, left-click the page to return to the normal zoomed-out mode.

Page turner

Move your mouse cursor over the left or right arrow and left-click your mouse to turn over the page of the publication.

Search function

Know what you are looking for but can’t find it? Using the search function is easy. Simply left-click the magnifying glass (think Sherlock Holmes) and then type in the word for which you are looking. You can now click on any of the results to be taken directly to the page in question.

I’d prefer to have this as a PDF please so I can view offline in iBooks. But it’s telling me I have to first create an account with issu before I can download it. I don’t want to do that. I hate creating accounts on random websites. I value my online privacy too much to do that.

I resize the page to get it exactly the size I want but then, when I turn the page, it reverts back to the original smaller size. Is there some way to keep the size you want for every page?

It doesn’t matter what you say, they are going to persist with this dreadful format – it is not easy to read anymore so each time it comes, I try again and then I get annoyed and think to myself “what the heck who cares – they haven’t taken any notice of the problems – they just give you more tips on how to be even more pissed off.

Eh? Normally I go to my email and there is a list of small articles I can read and comment on.
This time I have to download a magazine to see anything.
Old people just love it when you change the system, we do everything so effortlessly.

Today I just comment, but don’t read anything.
