Evaporative cooling hat

This week we offer details of a more wearable travel gadget – you’ll never look at any of your old hats in the same way again.

The Hyperkewl Evaporative Cooling Ranger Hat may look like your average sunhat, but it is so much more. Perfect for outdoors, this hat will help beat the heat this summer with its cooling relief system.

Using specialised fabrics and fibres, the hat contains an advanced water management system, known as Hyperkewl. Once absorbed and stored through the fabric, water is released through evaporation, creating a chilling effect; much the same way the body cools itself.

Made with 100 per cent cotton, the Evaporative Cooling Ranger Hat can provide up to 10 hours of cooling relief after being soaked in water for one to two minutes. Providing temperatures 15-20 degrees less than the ambient temperature, this is one hat you’ll want to hold onto!

RRP: $29.95 – Badbacks

    If you follow the link to "Badbacks" the description includes the following;
    "Please note: High humidity (90%+) will diminish the fabric’s ability to evaporate water and therefore will not provide cooling without significant airflow such as on a motorcycle."

    I think it's really amazing how they've incorporated a motorcycle helmet into it. You would never guess from its appearance.

    "Made with 100% cotton"

    "Comfortable, quilted cotton outer with HyperKewl™ fabric inner water repellent nylon liner"

    Don't these statements contradict each other?
