Get 30% additional Afterpay Day savings with this money tip

One of Australia’s biggest annual online shopping events begins on 19 August, with shoppers in line for savings of up to 70 per cent across a range of big brands and top sellers.

And this special offer could see you get 30 per cent cash back on your purchase.

Australians have embraced online shopping during the pandemic. Around one-third say that’s how it will stay, according to a recent online shopping survey.

It’s no secret Aussies love a sale as much as anyone, with EOFY and Boxing Day sales atop many a discount shopper’s dance card.

And, if you need further evidence of another mega sale Holy Grail, how about the wholehearted embrace of insurgent US-inspired Black Friday sales?

Now a newer kid on the block – the Afterpay Day sale – promises shoppers savings of up to 70 per cent on goods from highly reputable retailers such as Myer, Coles, Kmart, The Iconic, Rebel Sport, Petbarn, Booktopia, Shaver Shop, First Choice Liquor, and many more.

And there’s no need for a running-of-the-bulls retail riot with hundreds of frenzied customers.

If that’s not incentive enough, shoppers can get up to 30 per cent cashback from online sales via cash rewards program ShopBack.

ShopBack allows customers to get money back on their online purchases by making little to no changes to the process they already follow.

So, how does it work?

Put simply, ShopBack is a one-stop platform that helps shoppers cut the costs of internet purchases across fashion, electronics, homeware and even – eventually – travel bookings.

Throughout the Afterpay Day sales, which this year will take place from 19-22 August instead of the one day, ShopBack will run big offers as time sensitive flash sales.

Shoppers who sign up to ShopBack will receive a $20 sign-up bonus and will be alerted when the big cashback offers will happen.

To qualify for the cashback offer, sign up or log into your ShopBack account. Then click through to your favourite online store from ShopBack and check out as you normally would.

Cashback varies from retailer to retailer, but users can get up to 50 per cent back at over 1400 brands, as well as accessing additional promotions and curated deals.

Your cashback can then be transferred as cash to your nominated bank or PayPal account.

Whether you’re purchasing from the Afterpay Day sales or ordering your groceries online, this handy trick could save you hundreds over the course of the year, or on the same day, depending on the size of your purchase!
