Arnott’s introduces a new spin to a classic favourite

Arnott’s, the beloved biscuit company, is once again ready to stir the hearts (and taste buds) of snack enthusiasts across the nation with a new release.

Known for their knack for innovation while staying true to their roots, Arnott’s has unveiled a fresh take on a household staple ‘to innovate and excite Aussies.’

Introducing Jatz Minis – the bite-sized version of the iconic cracker that has graced Australian pantries for over 70 years. This new twist on an old favourite is set to hit the shelves in Coles supermarkets and independent retailers in early February.

The Jatz Minis will come in two flavours: sea salt and cheese and garlic.

For those residing in Victoria and Tasmania, get ready to welcome Savoy Minis to the family as well. These tiny treasures are expected to make their debut around the same time, ensuring that the southern states are not left out of the snacking revolution.

‘Creating a brand-new mini range of Australia’s favourite cracker in two great flavours highlights Arnott’s constant exploration for ways to innovate and excite Aussies,’ said Marco Maiese, the marketing manager for Arnott’s Crackers and Crispbread range.

‘Arnott’s Jatz is more than 70 years old and continues to be a well-loved pantry staple. With this exciting addition, we hope even more Aussies will be grabbing a box to enjoy themselves or share with friends at their next entertaining occasion.’

Priced at a recommended retail price of $4, Jatz Minis are not only a nod to the past but also a reflection of Arnott’s commitment to the future. In a world where convenience and portion control are increasingly valued, these mini crackers are perfectly suited for on-the-go snacking, lunchboxes, or as a delightful addition to any cheese platter.

The release of Jatz Minis follows Arnott’s impressive sales figures in 2024, with over 300 million packets of biscuits sold. The brand tracked the top 10 most popular biscuits in their range, with the Tim Tam Original leading the pack.

Interestingly, Tim Tams were the only sweet contender in the top five, alongside savoury options like Barbecue Shapes, Chicken Crimpy Shapes, Pizza Shapes, and Jatz.

With more than 130 types of biscuits and crackers in Arnott’s portfolio, including heritage lines like Milk Arrowroot and Scotch Finger, the company continues to dominate the snack scene.

Its success is further highlighted by the staggering 13.4 million packets of Barbecue Shapes and over 5.5 million gluten-free biscuits sold last year alone.

Ranita Cowled, Business Director for Treating at Arnott’s, captured the sentiment perfectly: ‘There is nothing like a fresh [biscuit] debate to start the week and everyone hoping their favourites will make the top 10.’

‘Whether it be our iconic [biscuits] like Monte Carlo and Scotch Finger, or crowd favourites Jatz and Barbecue Shapes, it is clear Aussies love a mix of classic, sweet, and savoury in 2024.’
