This year’s Melbourne Food and Wine Festival is about to get a lot more exciting.
Time to polish your finest forks and start making room for some of the best food in the world. Not to make a big deal or anything but the biggest International Food Festival to ever grace our island home is about to arrive.
An annual awards ceremony, The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, recognises, as the name would suggest, the best restaurants from around the globe. Usually held in London and New York, this will be the first time in 14 years the event will take place elsewhere – in none other than the world’s most liveable city, Melbourne.
Taking place on 5 April, the awards will see the crème de la crème of the culinary world take over Melbourne’s Royal Exhibition Building for what can only be described as the gastronomic event of the year.
And if that wasn’t enough to whet your appetite, the top 50 restaurants have also joined forces with the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. An impressive event in itself, the international addition will provide even more tantalisers for your tastebuds with a jam-packed week of food-filled fun from 31 March to 9 April.
Never mind the pool room, this one’s going straight to the diaries - autumn just got a whole lot more delicious.
