Baked lemon delicious

This baked lemon delicious is oh-so easy to make and served with cream will be sure to impress.


  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 tablespoons self-raising flour
  • Juice and zest of 2 lemons
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 eggs, separated

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Cream the butter and sugar together. Add in the flour, lemon juice and zest, milk and well-beaten egg yolks. Mix well.

Beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into the other mixture. Pour into a buttered glass dessert dish.

Set in a pan of water and cook for 45 minutes or until golden-brown on top.

    The amount of sugar should be adjusted according to how sweet the lemons are when you do a taste test. I personally prefer desserts and cakes not to be too sweet.

    I generally (at least) halve the sugar in most recipes. You can do a taste test and add more if needed.
