Gnocchi with Sage Butter Sauce

A little bit naughty, our Gnocchi with Sage Butter Sauce recipe is a rich and delicious meal.

It doesn’t take long to make and you will find it hard not to go back for seconds.

Serves: Two

Time: 20 minutes 

Ingredients

  • 2 packages potato gnocchi
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese


Method

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to the boil over high heat. Add the gnocchi, and cook until the pasta floats to the surface, approximately two to three minutes, then drain. Melt the butter in a pan over medium heat. Stir in the garlic, and cook until the garlic has softened and is beginning to turn golden brown. Stir in the sage and salt for a few seconds, and then add the cooked gnocchi. Toss gently with 1/4 cup of parmesan cheese and the pepper. Sprinkle with the remaining two tablespoons of parmesan and serve.
