Mum’s Favourite Meatloaf

Mmmm… Nothing beats Mum’s Favourite Meatloaf on a cold winter’s evening.

Remember Mum’s meatloaf from the days of your youth? Drew’s Mum’s Favourite Meatloaf is simple to prepare and perfect for a cold winter’s evening. Why not give it a try? 

Serves: Four

Time: One hour and 10 minutes 


  • 1kg lean minced beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 brown onions, diced
  • 2 tablespoons curry powder
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon hot English mustard
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped
  • salt and pepper, to taste


Preheat the oven to 200°C. Add all the ingredients to a large bowl and mix to combine well. Once you have a nice consistently, shape the mixture into a mound on a baking tray and cook for one hour.
