This cheap, easy and tasty recipe for Savoury Neck Chops from the Country Women’s Association, Classic Cookbook, is a real taste of Australia that is great as a family staple.
lamb neck, cut in two
2½ tablespoons flour
1½ teaspoons mustard powder
salt and pepper to taste
stock or water
Preheat oven to 180°C. Coat the lamb neck in a mixture of the flour, mustard powder, pepper and salt. Put meat into a casserole dish. Place a layer of sliced onions over the meat. Pour stock or water to cover and a good quantity of tomato sauce. Cook for about 2 hours.
Serve with mashed potatoes, and peas or beans.
