Now that the weather is warming up, dust off  the barbecue for dinner with an Asian flavour. These delicious chicken shashliks are perfectly accompanied by a wholesome fried rice

  • 1 tablespoon Hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

Fried Rice

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 cup rice, cooked and refrigerated until cold

  • 1/2 cup corn kernels
  • 1/2 cup frozen peas
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1/2 bunch buk choy, chopped
  • 2 spring onions, sliced

I do wok cooking and I would need to have the vegetables partially cooked prior to adding them to the fried rice.

I also cook the rice further after adding the soy sauce.
