Shoppers say ALDI’s new $5 dessert is ‘heaven in a cup’—would you try it?

Have you ever strolled through the aisles of ALDI, eagerly searching for that perfect sweet treat to elevate your mood? You’re definitely in good company! Australians love ALDI for its fantastic selection of snacks and desserts that cater to every palate.

The supermarket’s reputation for affordable, high-quality snacks and desserts is well-earned, and their latest offering is already causing a stir among foodies and everyday shoppers alike.

Enter ALDI’s new Biscoff Mousse Dessert, a $5 indulgence that even professional taste testers love.

For those not yet swept up in the Biscoff craze, here’s a quick primer: Biscoff is a caramelised biscuit spread that’s taken the world by storm, beloved for its unique, spiced flavour and creamy texture.

It’s found its way into everything from cheesecakes to milkshakes, and now, thanks to ALDI, it’s the star of a decadent new mousse dessert.

Each $5 pack contains two 90 g serves, making it a perfect treat to share—or to keep all to yourself. The dessert features a crunchy Biscoff biscuit base, a light and airy mousse, and a generous layer of Biscoff spread on top.

Nectro Vlangos, better known on social media as Nectorious Papi, is a professional taste tester who’s tried more desserts than most of us have had hot dinners.

When he got his hands on ALDI’s Biscoff Mousse, he didn’t hold back: ‘Heaven in a cup’, he declared in a video that’s since gone viral.

‘I love anything Biscoff, but this is so good as it has so many layers and different textures coming through,’ Vlangos said.

He even joked, ‘I was hoping it wouldn’t be good so I wouldn’t have to have the whole tub.’

Some followers questioned the portion size, but Vlangos quickly reassured them: ‘It is a decent size and to be honest, you wouldn’t want it to be bigger as it is sweet enough. I feel like it’s the perfect snack size.’

For those with a bigger sweet tooth or planning a gathering, he suggested ALDI consider a trifle-sized version for sharing.

Of course, no dessert is without its drawbacks. Vlangos admitted: ‘385 calories for a small tub can’t be justified often,’ echoing the thoughts of many health-conscious shoppers.

The response from ALDI shoppers and Vlangos’s followers has been enthusiastic.

Comments like ‘Running to ALDI’, ‘OK fine, I’ll buy it’, and ‘You did the spoon equivalent of a mic drop’ flooded his social media. Some even joked about needing to unfollow him to avoid temptation.

‘I’m there—probably gonna be sold out coz you posted this…quickly delete this video,’ one follower pleaded.
