If you grew up in Australia, chances are you’ve had your fair share of Allen’s lollies. Whether it was a party mix at a birthday bash, a sneaky treat at the movies, or a sweet pick-me-up on a long road trip, Allen’s has been a staple in Australian lolly culture for generations.
And now, one of their most iconic treats is getting a fresh twist that’s sure to get your taste buds tingling.
That’s right—the beloved Red Ripperz (formerly known as Red Skins, for those who remember the old-school days) are shaking things up with not one, but two brand-new flavours.
Say hello to Crispy Apple and Juicy Grape, the stars of the new Ripperz Remix pack. For the first time ever, you’ll be able to enjoy these classic chewy lollies in a duo of fruity flavours, with the new packs featuring only these two additions.
A chewy legacy gets a fresh remix
Red Ripperz have been a mainstay in lolly aisles for decades, with their signature raspberry chewiness and unmistakable red wrapper.
The last big change came in 2020, when the name was updated to Red Ripperz, but the classic taste remained the same. Now, Allen’s is giving fans something new to chew on—literally.
According to early feedback, the new apple and grape flavours aren’t just a feast for the taste buds, but also offer an even ‘chewier’ texture.
Influencer @Alrighthey summed up the excitement perfectly: ‘These new flavours are serving remix realness, and I’m here for it! I’ve always loved the classic raspberry flavour—especially that chewy, juicy goodness—so I can’t wait for Australians to get their hands on juicy Apple and intense Grape. Who else is with me on team chewy lollies?’
Shannon Wright, Nestlé’s Head of Marketing Confectionery, echoed the sentiment: ‘Allen’s cult classics are cherished by Australians, so we’re bringing a fresh, flavourful and chewy “remix” to our beloved Ripperz. We think Australians are going to love this fresh new take with its delicious apple and grape flavours.’

Where to find the new Ripperz remix
The Allen’s Ripperz Remix packs hit major retailers at the end of May, but be warned—not every supermarket has them on shelves just yet. If you’re keen to try them, you might need to do a bit of hunting (or perhaps a bit of online sleuthing).
Each bag of the new remix will set you back $5—not a bad price for a trip down memory lane with a modern twist.
A time of change for Allen’s lollies
The launch of these new flavours comes at a time of big changes for Allen’s. Just a few months ago, fans were left reeling when the company confirmed the discontinuation of the much-loved ‘teeth’ lollies in their standalone bags.
While you can still find Allen’s Teeth in the Retro Party Mix and Classic Party Mix, the dedicated Mad About Teeth packets are now a thing of the past.
And let’s not forget the heartbreak of 2023, when Allen’s Fantales were discontinued, and individual bags of Red Ripperz, Sherbies, and Milkos temporarily disappeared from shelves.
Thankfully, Red Ripperz and Sherbies have made a triumphant return, and you can still find Milkos online if you know where to look.
Allen’s has always been responsive to consumer demand, rotating which lollies get their own bags and which are only available in mixes.
The latest comeback? Allen’s Peaches & Cream, now available in its own bag for those who can’t get enough of that creamy, fruity goodness.
Why do we love Allen’s so much?
There’s something about Allen’s lollies that just feels quintessentially Australian. Maybe it’s the nostalgia, the bright colours, or the way they bring people together at parties and gatherings.
Or maybe it’s just that perfect balance of chewiness and flavour that keeps us coming back for more.
For many of us, Allen’s lollies are more than just a sweet treat—they’re a link to childhood memories, family traditions, and good times with friends.
And with these new Ripperz Remix flavours, there’s a whole new chapter to add to the story.
Have your say!
