War and Peace tells the story of three young Russians seeking meaning in life during Russia’s wars with Napoleon. The good-natured Pierre Bezhukov, played by the brilliant Paul Dano, is the idealistic young Russian friend of cynical Prince Andei Bolkonsky (James Norton), both of whom are captivated by the beautiful Natasha Rostova, who is played by the equally bewitching Lily James.
The tale is told during eight years of peace and war, and features a stellar cast including the talents of Stephen Rea (The Crying Game, V for Vendetta), Gillian Anderson (The X Files) Greta Scacchi (Emma) and Jim Broadbent (Moulin Rouge).
