According to my recollection, Remington Steele was the name taken on by the female lead for her detective agency because she decided that a masculine name would create more client confidence that her own girly name. Someone may correct me if I am wrong. But I suppose the bottom line is that Pierce Brosnan was a gorgeous hunk – still is!
