Quiz: Can you guess the country from its lesser known cities?

Font Size:

In the pantheon of world cities, capitals hog all the attention. A few bits of paperwork and suddenly they get government, tourism, investment – and a lion’s share of quiz questions.

Here’s to those smaller metropolises that aren’t getting the love they deserve. Can you match the country to three of its lesser known cities?

Be it the Olympics, the Space Race, or Eurovision, the world’s sovereign nations absolutely love competing. International prestige means a great deal to the world’s patriots, and something so simple as a football match can take on importance far beyond its consequences.

You can’t compete per se to be the biggest, the warmest or the most populous, but one nation generally tops the pile just the same. How many of these list-topping countries do you know?
