Meal-replacement weight loss brand says goodbye to Australian market

Maintaining a healthy weight is a key aspect of overall well-being. Over the years, numerous weight loss programs and brands have emerged, offering guidance, support, and products to help individuals achieve their health goals.

These brands often become familiar fixtures in people’s lives, representing a commitment to a healthier lifestyle and a source of ongoing support and encouragement. Recently, a well-known weight loss brand that has been a staple among many Australians seeking a healthier lifestyle has abruptly vanished from the market.

Slimmerlife, the Australian distributor of The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan, has announced that after over a decade of operation, it will no longer sell its meal replacement products in Australia.

The 1:1 Diet by Cambridge Weight Plan arrived on Australian shores in 2011 and has been a go-to solution for those looking to shed pounds through a structured program of soups, shakes, and bars designed to replace regular meals.

The program’s approach to weight loss is based on low-calorie meal replacements, coupled with the support of one-on-one consultations to guide dieters on their journey.

The statement from Slimmerlife read: ‘After many incredible years supporting consultants and dieters across the country, Slimmerlife will no longer be distributing The 1:1 Diet products into Australia. We know this may be disappointing if you were hoping to start (or continue) your weight-loss journey with us. But don’t worry, this isn’t the end of the road.’

Despite the withdrawal, the company assured its customers that some consultants still have a stockpile of products and are ready to offer the same level of passionate and knowledgeable support they always have.

Once a hub of inspirational success stories and testimonials, the brand’s social media pages reflect the community’s sense of loss.

One woman’s story of losing 37 kg and overcoming chronic pain and the need for a wheelchair stands as a testament to the program’s potential impact on individuals’ lives.

One customer lamented, ‘I am gutted to hear this. You have been an angel in my life, and I have the best memories because of my experience with you and Cambridge. I am nervous to do life without Cambridge…Sending you big hugs.’

Another echoed the sentiment, saying, ‘Oh no. This is awful news—it was such a great product, and your support was outstanding.’
