Airport names can be deceptive, as I learnt the hard way. Upon landing an hour-and-a-half out of Paris at Beauvais Airport with nothing but 13 Euros to my name and zero language skills, I realised it may be worth a quick Google search the next time I booked a cheap flight. Somewhere between cursing myself and my sheer panic, I remember thinking: “Wow, Paris has a lot more cows than I expected.”
To my surprise, things could have been worse. Paris Vatry Airport is 210km out of Paris, that’s 65km further out that Beauvais, so naïve 18 year old me had that to be thankful for.
