The man who invented the vampire facial now claims he can transform your sex life with his revolutionary treatment called the ‘O-Shot’.
Since its inception, the simple procedure is said to have recharged the libidos of Australian women, some of whom are calling the treatment “life-changing”.
The ‘O-Shot’, an affordable procedure that involves a tiny injection into the clitoris and the upper vaginal area, is said to rejuvenate and revitalise clitoral and vaginal function.
According to Géniale, one of a handful of Australian clinics that administers the procedure, benefits of the treatment include a re-activated or increased sex drive, more intense orgasms and strengthening of the vaginal muscles to assist declining bladder control and prolapse.
Dr Charles Runels – the man responsible for the ‘Vampire Facial’– first performed the procedure on Valentine’s Day in 2011 after his girlfriend asked him to inject the platelet-rich plasma used in the Vampire Facial into her clitoris as a present.
She had seen Dr Runels inject his own penis with blood for about a year and said “that while his bigger and stronger erections had been fun, she’d grown tired of the one-sided sexual enhancement”.
Dr Runels complied and, he said, the results were amazing.
“I don’t know how graphic you can be with this thing, but the next afternoon, she came to see me, and her orgasms came more quickly – very strong, ejaculatory orgasms. The passion, the thunder, the sounds that she was making …” he told The Guardian.
“That’s when I thought, ‘I should try this on my patients’.”
While the O-Shot is dealing with a fair amount of cynicism, some say it’s the best sex therapy ever.
“After the O-Shot, women experience greater arousal from clitoral stimulation, stronger and more frequent orgasms, increased ability to have a vaginal orgasm and an overall increased sexual desire. In addition, the O-Shot increases natural lubrication and decreases urinary incontinence,” said Dr Mike Shenouda, founder of the O-Shot Sydney Clinic which operates inside the Géniale Laser, Surgical & Medical Aesthetics Clinic.
“The procedure is simple. It involves the extraction of PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), which is taken from the patient’s own blood. Next, the platelets are isolated and growth factors are released and activated by a chemical. Finally, the plasma is re-injected, using a tiny needle, into the clitoris and upper vaginal area.
“Essentially, PRP amplifies and augments the areas that affect intimate sensitivity. The 30-minute process is relatively painless because it involves numbing cream applied to the vagina. The client might feel a brief sting like any injection.
“It’s a relatively new procedure so we’re still learning about long-term results, but given my client feedback, I would say that the effect is excellent, and it seems to last well. The research to date says up to three years.”
