The Hobbit – an unexpected journey

I nearly didn’t see The Hobbit – an unexpected journey. They have broken the novel The Hobbit down into three movies instead of one, and I thought it was a decision made based on the profit margin.

How wrong I was. Watching The Hobbit – an unexpected journey felt very much like reading the book. It was slower paced than many modern movies, but rather than creating great big filler scenes, the director Peter Jackson simply stayed true to the book. He paid loving attention to the details and the end result was one of the best films I have seen in over a year. The scenery is beautiful, the acting delightful and I highly recommend it for fans of the book and newcomers alike.
