The Lone Ranger

Contrary to popular reviewer opinion, I loved every minute of The Lone Ranger. It was laugh-out-loud funny, the choreography of the stunts was more complex than a Russian ballet number and, as a childhood-fan, it made all the right references to the old Lone Ranger stories. A number of people have canned this movie for being politically incorrect – Johnny Depp, who plays Tonto, has had his fair share of abuse for his portrayal of the native American character.

I think, however, that there are times when it is forgivable to step off the politically correct bandwagon. One of those times is when you’re watching a cheesy cowboy movie set in the 1800s. It’s a rollicking good story and a lot of fun to watch. A word to the wise – I don’t think the trailer does it justice, so don’t let that put you off.
