Acerbic comic Joan Rivers has died, age 81, after her family made the decision to turn off her life support. Rivers suffered a cardiac arrest following a surgical procedure at her doctor’s office and had been on life support for 10 days. The female comedian is known for her razor-sharp wit, which often polarised certain audiences. She was also famous for her love of cosmetic surgery, which led to her making the comment, “I’ve had so much plastic surgery that when I die, I’m donating my body to Tupperware.”
Why not watch her on The Tonight Show five months ago, 49 years on from her first appearance?
