Five foods for your face

Beauty products are getting more complex and confusing. However, many of the top complexion cures still come from natural foods. So, which foods are best for your face?

Here are five top foods to eat your way to healthier skin.

  1. Avocado

Full of healthy fat, avocado is an anti-inflammatory, which will help keep your skin soft and supple. In particular, avocado will help to fight any bags under your eyes.

  1. Blueberries

Foods high in antioxidants will help to reduce skin damage and inflammation – the primary cause of wrinkles. Blueberries are high in potassium and vitamins C and E which boosts the skin’s elasticity.

  1. Broccoli

Another edible way to combat dark circles – broccoli helps to cleanse the liver, which can lead to clearer skin. It’s also packed full of vitamin C – which boosts collagen, calcium and vitamin K to strengthen capillaries.

  1. Pumpkin

Taking its orange hue from carotenoids, which are wrinkle-fighting plant pigments, pumpkin can help neutralise free radicals in the skin and slow down ageing. It’s also filled with vitamin C, E and A as well as powerful enzymes that help to cleanse the skin.

  1. Oatmeal

Known for its exceptional ability to heal skin, oatmeal can help you to look younger. Oatmeal also keeps your blood sugar stable, which is important as spiked blood sugar elevates certain hormones that can contribute to wrinkles. Make sure it’s steel-cut oatmeal though, as the more processed varieties have less vitamins.
