How to copy Kate’s casual looks

As one of the most photographed women on the planet, the Duchess of Cambridge’s wardrobe is a source of inspiration for many – particularly as the stylish royal rarely puts a fashion foot wrong.

She’s got her staple pieces she knows works for her, but recently Kate has really stepped out of her comfort zone and experimented with some different looks. She even started to regularly wear trousers.

As a fan of both the British high street and luxury designers, Kate epitomises the ultimate modern royal – she’s not afraid to mix and match price points or recycle some of her favourite pieces.

One thing that will never change though? She does it all in her trademark glossy blow dry, with lots of royal sparkle on her on finger.

Nautical trend

Here she keeps it classy and casual with fashionable wide-legged pants and a black and white top.

Embrace the fun nautical trend with some Seven Seas Pants. Pair with a long sleeve Breton to get the look.

Summer essentials

Knowing how to dress in hot weather can be a minefield, but the Duchess of Cambridge shows us how going back to basics is always the best answer.

Keeping things sleek, sophisticated and elegant, Kate wore a white midi dress this summer.

It’s the Flippy Wiggle dress from London-based brand Suzannah, retailing at $3400. The Duchess accessorised the outfit with an old favourite pair of heels – the Tabitha Simmons Dela Lizard Pumps which she first wore back in 2011.

This Sitting Pretty dress is a close contender, without the high price point.

Pretty in pink
While visiting London’s Battersea Park the Duchess of Cambridge opted for a summery ensemble.

Kate donned a casual white T-shirt with a pair of pink pleated trousers, and simple white trainers for the occasion.

These dusty rose straight-leg pants from Boden come pretty close and will be perfect for summer.

These Weekend Max Mara pants are also a close match.

For some simple white sneakers, try the Superga Cotu Classic White.

Relaxed tailoring trend
The Duchess of Cambridge recently sported a beige and navy ensemble on a royal visit.

Kate took a solo trip to an Oxfordshire Royal Air Force base to meet service personnel who helped with the evacuation of thousands of people from Afghanistan last month.

The mum of three chose an understated but fashionable outfit for the occasion, teaming a Reiss beige double-breasted blazer with a simple white top and navy blue trousers.

She accessorised her ensemble with a matching beige mini handbag from British leather goods brand Tusting, a navy belt and navy suede heels.

Relaxed tailoring is a major trend right now and with her slightly oversized jacket and wide-leg trousers Kate nailed the look.
