The biggest name on the red carpet at the Oscars on Sunday was none other than H&M
Forget Jennifer Aniston and Anne Hathaway, the biggest name on the red carpet at the Oscars on Sunday was none other than H&M. The High Street brand was the talk of Tinseltown after actress Helen Hunt stepped out sporting a floor-length gown designed by the team at H&M.
Strapless and to the floor, the gown was simple in its design, yet still striking thanks to the stunning navy silk satin. It just goes to show looking good doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Although the actress did pair the estimated $650 dress with $700,000 worth of jewellery!
Why it works
At 49 Helen Hunt has pulled this off so well by adhering to the 'KISS' principle, keep it simple stupid! Unlike so many others who walked the red carpet drowning in silk taffeta, or exposing more than most of us wished to see, Helen got it right by choosing an uncomplicated design in a prominent colour and allowing herself to be the star of the show with her minimalistic gown complementing this. Wear, as Helen has, with classic, old Hollywood style hair and your finest jewellery and you’re all set to paint the town red.
