The jacket so hot right now that it will have you thinking it’s summer all over again.
As the season’s transition from one to another and the weather begins to become cooler, it can be increasingly hard to get dressed. Gone are the days of throwing on a dress, or skirt and sleeveless top and running out the door with abandon. It is now necessary to consider additional layers for when the sun goes down.
The good news is that there is one jacket which is so hot right now that it will have you thinking it’s summer all over again. Printed jackets are everywhere at the moment. From the runway to the real way, on celebrities and the street, the printed jacket is taking both hemispheres by storm.
How to pick it
The one jacket that will literally transform your wardrobe for transseasonal dressing, consider it an investment piece. Word on the street is that you’ll be wearing this one for at least the rest of the year, if not longer. Choose a print that you love and aren’t likely to get sick of. You want to go for a statement piece but one that is versatile enough to still match most colours for maximum wear.
In terms of style the bomber, kimono and blazer are all very prominent this year. The bomber is a great option for a layering, and tends to be a more structured and edgy look. Opt for a blazer for a more formal option which will also suit work or evening wear. For the more daring, go for a kimono for a softer and more relaxed silhouette.
How to wear it
The great thing about a printed jacket is that it literally goes with pretty much anything and everything. For a casual look throw over a black top and jeans and then pair with boots or coloured flats. Layer a printed jacket over any little black dress to add interest to an office or evening outfit. For the bolder, opt for some subtle print clashing by wearing a printed or striped top underneath. You can have as much or as little fun as you please by adding coloured or out there accessories or opting for none and letting the printed jacket do all the talking for you.
