Camp Gallipoli volunteers wanted

If you have some spare time over the ANZAC Day holiday, perhaps you might like to consider volunteering at a Camp Gallipoli event near you.

Camp Gallipoli offers the opportunity for Australians and New Zealanders to come together to commemorate 100 years since the landings at Gallipoli. Events will be held in the following locations, on 24-25 April 2015:

Melbourne – Showgrounds
Sydney – Centennial Park
Adelaide – Morphettville Racecourse
Brisbane – Showgrounds
Perth – Ascot Racecourse

The events are the opportunity for families, schools and community groups to come together in a night of remembrance, entertainment and mateship, while camping in swags just as the Diggers did. The events will be respectful and informative and will feature a very special Dawn Service on ANZAC Day.

If you have some spare time over these two days and think you can fulfill one of the roles required, then perhaps this is a good opportunity to lend a helping hand.

My daughter was invited to attend this event through her school, at a cost of $100, which I can't afford! Surely if this was a community event to celebrate the Anzac spirit it should be accessible and affordable for everyone. I would like to know how much those behind the scenes will be making out of this, it says all "surplus" funds are going to the RSL and Legacy, I wouldn't volunteer for an event if the organisers are making a huge profit.
