Mind Your Own Retirement Episode 32

Maintaining an affordable retirement is difficult, no matter which tribe to which you belong. First up, Kaye discusses your typical spending habits in retirement and how some Australians actually manage to maintain an affordable retirement.

Most people have an opinion about botox, but clinical nurse Amanda Taylor is here today to identify how you may benefit therapeutically from the often controversial cosmetic treatment.

And finally, Ian MacWilliams discusses his passion for volcanos and what recently drew him to travel to Vanuatu to visit an active site and shares a video of the visit!

I hate these podcasts. A lot of padding and I can’t be bothered. Does anyone listen to them? Text (minus the drivel) would be great

This goverment is for the rich people only not for all Australians - Our goverment is CORRUPTED I wonder how much money goes under the table for each politician ????? No wonder we are always in trouble with the Budget. There is no life improvement for pensioners the only way the Gov. will be happy IS WHEN WE DIE ....That is exactly what they so they create stress and stress everyday so they will achieve their goal ...
"KILL THE PENSIONERS AND SAVE MONEY" .

So are we the only source of income for the gov. ?????

They will also change the entire Social Security Act 1991 so they are within the law to do anything they want.

It is uncompressible how they can play and play and play with the pensioners in our country that is the reason why many of us stay overseas as much as we can because we cannot live in Australia with the pension as the only source of income unless we get a family help like living with your Son, Daughter or other family member and of course you will create a burden for them ,,,,, WOWOWOWOWO what a beautiful life of stress and we will finish in hospital costing the Gov. more money how stupid they are as I always say they are seat warmers they do not care for the Australian people just for themselves and their future pensions ......

.. "WHAT A BEATIFUL LIFE WE HAVE AS A PENSIONER IN AUSTRALIA HAPPY NO WORRIES AND NO STRESS" ..

... That is the dream so lets keep dreaming until we die then our dream will come true ...

Yes johnp .... soon they are going to make a new law so euthanasia will be part of the ROBO-DEBT and will be an excuse to get rid of all of us so they can increase their pensions ..... WTF bunch of incompetent bastards

Yep. Quite agree. Podcasts are for listening when you can't do anything else (like when driving a car or watching the tennis or maybe the BBL cricket). Replace them with some decent Sunday news or whatever.

I totally agree with you, we were told that we needed superannuation & at the start it looked good but then the changes came & kept coming & now the government wants that as well. I got injured at work & am disabled & I know that I will have to go into care & that’s what I was keeping my superannuation for but the way things are going I won’t even have enough to pay half the fees for this, I’m like many other’s here & hope that I die quickly and will not have to worry about any more government laws that change so that they can take more money from us and our dignity.

Can't stand podcasts! Text would be great, but only if we can skip to the important bits.

When you are listening to Podcasts you are able to fast forward to where you want to ----

I download ABC Podcasts -- of which I am interested in and listen to them via USB in my TV if I wake at 3 or 4am

I made the mistake again of listening to part of the current podcast. It was a section I was interested in. It was, as I have experienced before, a complete waste of time. They completely lack substance and are condescending.
