Attracting more than 84.5 million visitors each year, France tops the list as the most visited country. With access to heritage sites, delicious foods and beautiful coasts, it is no surprise that the nation that hosts the city of love comes out first.

United States of America
The US has 77.5 million visitors annually. With 50 diverse and quirky states to choose from, visitors are never let down when it comes to new and broad experiences of food, sport and entertainment in one of the planet’s most developed destinations.

Who wouldn’t want to travel to sunshine in stunning locations like Madrid, Barcelona, Seville or Malaga to immerse themselves in the rich history, art, food and drink culture, from the beach to the city? Each year Spain sees nearly 70 million tourists flock to its shores to soak up some relaxation in the sun.

As the largest Asian country in the world, China receives 56.9 million tourists yearly. Features in architecture, breath-taking nature and exotic foods, as well as an extremely diverse culture, make China a bucket list favourite.

The home of some of the most picturesque cities in Europe, Italy welcomes 50.9 million tourists every year to explore the abundance of art, museums, cathedrals and most importantly, food. From Milan to Florence, Venice or Rome, this nation holds a rich culture just waiting to be sampled.

China is the pits - filthy dirty, overcrowded, horrible. And the language sounds like an empty tin can being thrown onto concrete.

To them (Chinese) the English language sounds even worse!
Apart from that China is a wonderful country to visit; it features glorious landscapes.

I spent several months in China & found it very clean, never saw the rubbish lying around that I see in Sydney, bins emptied all the time, people cleaning the streets & footpaths etc.
I also spent a year living in Spain, wonderful country.

I don't know where you have been, it's a vast country. My experience has been very positive and I am considering going back for another visit.

China is certainly not on the suggested list.
If you like millions of tourists, squalid ripoff hotels, and box ticking of selected places, most of Europe qualifies. How about 4000 cheapskates on a diaorrhea boat?

If this is you, DON'T go to Finland, Poland, and keep well away from Tasmania.

I don’t have to worry lol as we cannot afford overseas travel. Tasmania is beautiful and we had two trips there a few years back self driving and it is a good choice for people like us.
Of course I would like to see some places like France and even parts of USA but would love to go to Ireland but it will not happen now.

I just enjoyed two weeks in Hong Kong, staying with a Chinese friend, in a beautiful 3 bed, 2 bathroom apartment, in a beautiful part of Kowloon, near the large flower market. Friendly, English speaking people, a tax free port, where I purchased quality goods for Christmas presents for my family. The food was wonderful.....they truly revere older people.....I had a wonderful time!
