Claiming the Low Income Supplement

Time is running out for those hoping to make a claim for the Low Income Support Supplement (LIS) – you have until 30 June 2017 to lodge your paperwork.

Individuals who meet residence, income and tax requirements may be eligible for the LIS of $300 per annum. You will need to apply on an annual basis via Centrelink to receive this payment.

The Low Income Supplement self assessment tool is available on the Department of Human Services website, however, it will cease to be available after 1 July 2017. This tool will assist customers to determine their eligibility for the LIS.
