The world’s best hotel pools

With the winter weather encroaching on us, if you are unable to afford an escape to the tropics, there’s always armchair travelling to help distract from what’s going on outside.

When it comes to a summer getaway, there’s pools and then there’s pools. And while the beach has its draw cards if you’re not a fan of sand, freezing temperatures or waves then nothing beats a good hotel pool.

Here are the top 10 on our bucket list that we long to lounge by or beat the heat in.

Grand Hotel Tremezzo, Lake Como, Italy
As close as you can get to swimming in the lake without actually having to swim in the lake. This floating pool leaves plenty of space to lounge with bar service to boot.

Hanging Gardens Ubud Hotel, Bali
An iconic, tiered infinity pool surrounded by rainforest and jungle at the world’s first seven-star boutique hotel.

San Alfonso del Mar, Algarrobo, Chile
The largest in the world, this seawater pool is 1km long and holds 250 million litres of water.
