Let’s be honest: cleaning the oven is one of those household jobs that most of us dread. It’s messy, it’s awkward, and the fumes from some cleaning products can leave you gasping for fresh air.
If you’ve ever found yourself slamming the oven door shut and promising to live on takeaway forever, you’re not alone! But with the rising cost of living, eating out every night isn’t a budget-friendly solution.
Luckily, a game-changing product has been making waves among professional cleaners and savvy homeowners alike—and it’s available for just $10 at Bunnings and Mitre 10.

Meet Tricleanium: the all-purpose cleaner taking the hard work (and the scrubbing) out of even the grimiest cleaning jobs.
Sara Allan, founder of Housekeeping Heroes in Sydney, swears by Tricleanium for her cleaning business and 30,000 social media followers.
She called it a ‘great all-rounder’ that works ‘extremely fast’ on everything from ovens and rangehoods to walls, grout, concrete floors, pots and pans, and even shower screens caked with hard water or soap scum.
What sets Tricleanium apart? For starters, it comes in two forms: a ready-to-use spray (around $10) and a concentrated powder ($28) that you dilute with water.
Sara’s pro tip: mix half a cup of the concentrate into a 9-litre bucket of water, then soak oven racks, stovetop elements, or even pots and pans.
‘No scrubbing is required,’ she said. ‘I also use the bucket to dip a flat mop in it to use on walls directly.’
It’s not just the professionals who are raving. Former My Kitchen Rules star Jordan Bruno, who’s currently renovating a house with his husband, recently shared a jaw-dropping oven transformation on social media using Tricleanium.
The process took just 30 minutes, and Jordan said, ‘It definitely made the process quicker and easier.’
‘As someone who has been cleaning ovens for over a decade in my food truck and as a cook, I’ve tried numerous products, and Tricleanium stands out for its efficiency in cutting through grease,’ he said. ‘I’m convinced nothing compares.’
Jordan’s favourite trick? Fill a sink with hot water, add a scoop of Tricleanium, and soak oven racks and cooktops for about 10 minutes.
The grease lifts off effortlessly. He prefers the spray for the oven: ‘Apply it, let it sit, then wipe with a rough cloth and a bucket of hot water. It’s incredibly effective.’
Tricleanium isn’t just for ovens. Sara and Jordan have used it on BBQs, bathroom tiles, and even walls before painting. The results, they say, are ‘consistently excellent.’
While Tricleanium is a powerhouse on most surfaces, cleaning experts warned against using it on aluminium or brass, as it can discolour the finish if left in contact for too long. Always check the label and do a spot test if you’re unsure.
One of the biggest complaints about heavy-duty cleaners is the overpowering chemical smell. Not so with Tricleanium.
‘There are absolutely no fumes at all, which is why this product sets it apart from other cleaning solutions on the Australian market,’ said Sara. This makes it an excellent choice for anyone sensitive to strong odours or respiratory concerns.
