If you love the creaminess of tiramisu but are not a big fan of coffee desserts, then Debbie’s Chocolate Tiramisu could be the Christmas pudding for you.
175ml drinking chocolate, cooled
6 tablespoons Irish Cream liqueur
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
150g or savoiardi biscuits or sponge fingers
250g mascarpone cheese
280ml cream, lightly whipped
4 tablespoons sifted icing sugar
grated chocolate to decorate
Mix the drinking chocolate, Irish Cream liqueur and vanilla extract together.
Dip half the biscuits in the liquid, allowing them to soak up some of the liquid without becoming soggy and place at the bottom of a serving dish. Mix the marscapone cheese and cream and icing sugar together lightly and place a layer on top of the biscuits. Repeat with remaining biscuits and cream.
Pour any remaining chocolate liquid over the top of the dessert and decorate with grated chocolate. Chill for approximately 2-3 hours and remove from fridge 30 minutes before eating.
