Healthy Flapjacks

Flapjacks are a favourite snack-time treat, but they’re not always the healthiest option. Try our healthier version to keep the hunger pangs at bay.

Ingredients

80g brown sugar
40g butter
60g margarine
250g oats
150g dried fruit
30g honey

 

Method

Grease and line a slice tin and preheat oven to 1800C.
Melt butter and margarine over a medium heat, then add brown sugar and honey, stirring until combined.
Stir in the oats and dried fruit.
Pour into slice tin and spread evenly.
Bake in oven for 15 to 20 minutes, until the mixture goes a dark brown.
Leave to stand for two minutes, then score slices into the top.
Cover with kitchen roll and allow to stand for six hours.
Slice and serve.
