Deep-Fried Cadbury Cream Egg Recipe

After reading about this monstrosity, Webmaster Drew had to see what all the fuss was about. Drew shares his pictures, recipe and review on the Deep-Fried Cadbury Cream Egg.

4 Cadbury Cream Eggs
Canola Oil

1 cup flour
1 egg
1/2 cup corn starch
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup milk
1/2 cup water

Mix up the batter
Place the cream eggs into the batter and cover.
Heat the canola oil until bubbling. Carefully place the battered cream eggs into the oil and let them roll around for a few minutes. Ensure an even amount of time is allowed on each part of the egg for cooking.
Remove from oil and leave for a few minutes on paper towel to drain the excess oil (not that it will make that much of a difference to the calorie count).
Cut in half and enjoy!

I went into the ‘experiment’ with two Cream Eggs. The first one was a disaster, as the oil was not hot enough. I moved immediately onto the second egg, let the oil get VERY hot and then slowly put the egg into the oil as I was unsure what would happen! I let the Egg sit for about 15 seconds on one side then turned it over, and to my amazement, the batter successfully covered the outside of the egg!

After frying the egg for another two to three minutes, i removed it to a plate with paper towel and let it sit for 10-15 seconds before serving it with ice cream.

While i did not expect much from this extremely experimental recipe, i have to admit it was very tasty.

You will be pleased to hear that it will not be on my permanent recipe list, but can be used to impress some dinner guests who are into that type of thing.
