A fresh deal from Coles could change the way you shop online

You’ve probably noticed that the weekly grocery shop isn’t quite as simple—or as cheap—as it used to be.

Between rising food prices, petrol costs, and the ever-present temptation to add ‘just one more thing’ to the trolley, it’s no wonder more Australians are turning to online grocery shopping for convenience and savings.

But what about those pesky delivery fees? Coles has launched a limited-time promotion to make grocery shopping even more attractive. Here’s everything you need to know.

Coles has just announced a new offer that could allow you to waive delivery charges for the next three months.

Until 20 May, new members who sign up for either the Coles Plus or Coles Plus Saver subscription programs can enjoy three months of free membership, which comes with a host of valuable perks.

This move comes as Coles reports a surge in online sales, with a whopping 25.7 per cent increase in the last quarter alone. More people are clicking ‘add to cart’ from the comfort of home, and Coles is keen to keep them coming back.

Let’s break down the benefits:

Coles Plus ($19/month after trial)

  • Free delivery on orders over $50, including Rapid Delivery (great for those last-minute dinner emergencies).
  • Free Click & Collect—Order online, and pick up in-store at your convenience.
  • 10 per cent off one shop every month (up to $50 off per shop).
  • Double Flybuys points on every dollar spent at Coles, Liquorland, and First Choice Market.
  • Exclusive member deals and offers.

Coles Plus Saver ($7/month after trial)

  • 10 per cent off one grocery shop per month (up to $50 off).
  • Double Flybuys points at Coles, Liquorland, and First Choice Market.
  • Exclusive deals for members.

And here’s the kicker: You can sign up for both programs and stack the benefits—remember, after the free trial, you’ll be charged $19 + $7 per month if you don’t cancel.

Getting started is easy:

  1. Sign up via the Coles app or website before 20 May.
  2. Use promo code PLUSFREE for Coles Plus and SAVERFREE for Coles Plus Saver.
  3. Link your Flybuys number during sign-up (a must for all the perks).
  4. Enjoy three months of free membership and all the associated benefits.

Just a friendly reminder: set a calendar alert to review your subscription before the trial ends, so you’re not surprised by any charges.

So, how much can you save? Let’s do the math. Standard Coles delivery fees range from $4 to $11 per order (unless you spend over $250, in which case delivery is already free).

If you shop weekly and usually pay for delivery, this offer could save you up to $44 a month or $132 over three months, plus the value of the 10 per cent discount and double Flybuys points.

For those who prefer Click & Collect, the free service means you can skip the queues and still save.

The savings can add up quickly if you’re a regular Coles shopper, especially if you order online more than once a month.

If you max out the 10 per cent discount alone, it could be worth up to $150 over three months, and double Flybuys points mean you’ll be racking up rewards faster than ever.

However, if you’re not a frequent online shopper or you tend to shop at various supermarkets, it’s worth considering whether the ongoing monthly fees after the trial will suit your lifestyle.

Coles isn’t the only supermarket offering subscription perks. Woolworths has its own ‘Delivery Unlimited’ program, and ALDI is trialling home delivery in some areas. It’s worth comparing the offers to see which best fits your needs.
