It’s not every day that a simple $6 grocery item sparks a frenzy, but that’s exactly what’s happening at Kmart and Coles. Influencers are raving about it and fans are saying it’s a must-have. While some have grown up with this treat, others are just discovering what all the craze is about. So, what makes this product so irresistible?
The appetite for international confectionery has taken a sweet turn with the arrival of a fan-favourite American sweet treat that’s causing quite a stir among the young at heart.
The Nerds Gummy Clusters, a vibrant and tangy treat that has long tantalised taste buds of sweet tooths, has been finally stocked Down Under, and it’s sending shoppers into a frenzy.
For those in the know, the Nerds Gummy Clusters are not just another sweet treat; they’re a taste sensation that’s been sorely missing from Australian shelves. Since their initial arrival in July 2024, these bite-sized delights have been a hot topic among lollies connoisseurs. But it’s the recent release of the Very Berry flavour in February this year that has truly set the confectionery community abuzz.

The excitement is palpable, with one shopper taking to social media to exclaim, ‘Coles has finally stocked the original Nerds Gummy Clusters! If you know, you know.’
This simple statement has sparked a wave of enthusiasm, with many eager to get their hands on the treat without the hefty price tag of imported goods. Now, with Coles offering them for as low as $4.40 per 100g, and Kmart joining in, the viral sweet treat is made more accessible for sweet tooths.
Several people thanked the original poster (OP) for her ‘service.’
‘I’m going to need to try now,’ wrote another, while someone else commented, ‘What? I was there yesterday!’
Meanwhile, others clarified that the store ‘had them for ages,’ to which the OP responded, ‘[It’s the] first time I’ve seen this and I go to the shops 2-3 times a week.’
Another one echoed, I used to buy them last year, but the pink pack [has] been out for ages.’
But what is it about these American sweets that have Australians racing to the lollies aisle? It could be the boldness of the flavours, the brightness of the colours, and the sheer novelty of the textures. Nerds Gummy Clusters are a masterful blend of contrasts: the tangy, crunchy exterior of Nerds gives way to a soft, chewy gummy centre, creating a snacking experience that’s as unique as it is addictive.
These treats aren’t just for eating straight out of the bag, though that’s certainly a popular option. They’re also making waves as a creative topping for desserts, from ice cream sundaes to milkshakes and even cakes. The versatility and fun factor of Nerds Gummy Clusters make them a hit for all ages.
As the Very Berry flavour hits the shelves, social media is abuzz with reactions. Some fans are already declaring it superior to the original, while others are more critical of the artificial colours and flavours. Regardless of the mixed reviews, the excitement is undeniable, with one shopper humorously recounting their impromptu dash from the library to the nearest Coles upon discovering the treat’s availability.
Kmart, too, has emerged as an unexpected haven for imported snacks, with shoppers flocking to its aisles for a taste of America. From Nerds Gummy Clusters to Reese’s, Warheads, and other US favourite treats, the retailer is satisfying the cravings of those with a penchant for international sweets.
As demand continues to grow, it’s clear that retailers in the country are listening, bringing a world of sweetness to your doorstep.

We should not be buying lollies (NOT candy, in Australia) or anything else from the USA at the moment.
👍👍👍
Completely correct
Totaly agree, and yes candy is found in the U.S., not Austra;lili
Apologies for the oversight, Rod63. This has been edited. Thank you!
We should not be promoting anything from the USA at the moment, i’m surprised that you are even publishing this given the events of the last few days.
Agree 100%. Very disappointing from Your Life Choices.
As an American sweet this will be full of High Fructose Corn Syrup. For your own health, avoid it like the plague. (At least American chocolate tastes like baby vomit, and is easily identified and avoided.)
Yes, I forgot to add that above. The Gummies children have been eating for a few years were found o be high in sugar, and I reckon HFCS
