Stacks of space

When it comes to packing, space bags can be a lifesaver in more ways than one.

Stacks of space

When it comes to storage, you may have heard of space saving bags before. But did you know space bags can also be used for packing?

I’ll let you in on a little secret. Since I bought four space bags three years ago, I have never packed for an extended trip without them. So simple, yet so effective. All you need to do is place a small pile of clothing in the bag, seal it up as you would a zip lock bag and then press the air out.

Voila! You now have a pile of clothes that’s half its original size. As a bonus, the bags protect your clothing from any spillages that may occur mid flight and help you to organise your packing into sections.

These bags require no vacuum and are rollable for easy packing while travelling. Now all you need to decide is what to do with all that extra space! Don’t get carried away and forget about weight restrictions. Sadly the space bags don’t yet reduce the weight of your clothing.

RRP: $21 from ibuys

I purchased some packing cubes a while back ....had a trial run and was amazed at how much you can squeeze into them. They are not that big, but when you roll up your things and put inside the cubes it squeezes all the air out. Will be using them on a trip to Darwin in August and I intend to only take a small cabin bag and a carry on bag in lieu of a mid size case.
