Prevent Facebook photo tagging

There is absolutely nothing worse than a friend uploading an unflattering photo of you to Facebook and then tagging you in it. Drew explains how to prevent these photos appearing in your friends’ timelines.

Start by opening up Facebook in your web browser. At the top-right-hand-side of the screen will be an icon shaped like a cog. Click the cog and from the drop-down menu select ‘Privacy settings’. In the menu on the left-hand-side, click on ‘Timeline and tagging’.

In the third section called ‘How can I manage tags people add and tagging suggestions’, click the ‘Edit’ button next to the second option down called ‘When you’re tagged in a post…’. The current option should be ‘Friends’. Switch this to ‘Only me’. Now click ‘Close’ on the right hand side and your settings are updated. I would also suggest changing the bottom option to ‘No one’.
