Tips for technophobes

While you may think you know all the tricks of the trade, there are always more rabbits to pull out of the hat and today we discuss ways to perform tasks more quickly, easily and how to undo those mistakes!

Please note that these tips are prepared for Microsoft Windows users and may not be applicable for MAC users.

Undo: In all Microsoft products, if you make a mistake, there will be an undo button available to you by holding down Ctrl and pressing Z. This function can also be found in Microsoft Word for example, by clicking on Edit located at the top left hand side, next to File, and clicking on Undo Typing. As you can see, it shows the Hotkey for this is Ctrl+Z.

Copy
There are normally three different ways to Copy/Cut/Paste an item. You can highlight the text or document you are wishing to copy and then do one of the following three.
·tThe quickest is to hold down CTRL and press C (Ctrl+C).
·tYou can go up to Edit, and click on the Copy button
·tYou can right click on the highlighted text or item, and select Copy

Cut
·tThe quickest is to hold down CTRL and press X (Ctrl+X).
·tYou can go up to Edit, and click on the Copy button
·tYou can right click on the highlighted text or item, and select Cut

Paste
·tThe quickest is to hold down CTRL and press V (Ctrl+V).
·tYou can go up to Edit, and click on the Copy button
·tYou can right click on the highlighted text or item, and select Paste
