Field Trip can serve as an automated tour guide in any city on Google Glass.
Being just the ninth application approved for the wearable technology Google Glass, Field Trip can serve as an automated tour guide in any city in the world, by tracking the user’s whereabouts.
Field Trip already boasts a large following on their popular smartphone apps for iPhone and Android, with over 500,000 device installs worldwide. Field Trip delivers alerts, information and snapshots of nearby historical landmarks, restaurants and tourist attractions with information provided by over 130 different sources. It is expected that the Google Glass version will be more interactive and could potentially be used inside museums.
The early model of the Google Glass, the Explorer edition, is still in its first testing phase with 10,000 developers worldwide testing the model and creating applications to advance the product. The Google Glass is expected to be released for sale early next year.
