iPad 5 to be announced

Technology blogging website All Things D announced last week that Apple will hold its next invitation-only event on 22 October, with the key focus on the announcement of the new iPad 5. This event is set to take place on the same day as technology rivals Microsoft’s Surface 2 computer goes on sale in the United States and Nokia’s Innovation Reinvented showcase is held.

Just like previous models, the iPad 5 is expected to be thinner and lighter than those which came before it, while running a significantly faster processor and improved camera. The addition of the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, featured on the new iPhone 5s, is rumoured to be another feature which will be added to the new model.

Expected to play a secondary role at the event is the release of a new Mac Pro and also the latest update of Apple’s operating system OS X Mavericks.

With Apple losing market share month-on-month to other devices, does the new iPad 5 sound innovative enough to keep your business?
