The smart home technology that can make your life easier

Font Size:

The future is here, and it’s surprisingly simple and very affordable. Smart home technology is available now and it’s perfectly designed to make your life easier.

The big names help you control it all

It’s no fluke that names like Google, Apple and Amazon are the pioneers in smart home technology. From the moment you wake up, to the minute you fall asleep, Google Home, Amazon Echo and Apple Homepod can help you with your day. Wake up with your favourite music, update your diary, add milk to your shopping list and check the day’s weather or traffic, all without pressing a button.  All you need is your voice. At night, watch your favourite TV shows, dim the lights, skim your preferred news or skype your family, all with the same device. And all this can be done safely, with individual voices able to be easily programmed. They can also double as high-quality speakers, with some able to recognise their surroundings and adjust their levels.

Keep your family safe

Imagine being able to answer your front door no matter where you are in the world. At JB Hi-Fi, our range of digital doorbells means you can see who’s at your door, and speak to them through your phone, computer or tablet. These big sellers even have night vision, and the ability to dial into the vision whenever you want. Combine this safety with the security of wireless cameras, and peace of mind is all yours. The latest security cameras come with cloud recordings, can send messages directly to your phone and even include a deafening siren that can be activated remotely.

Light up your life

If you thought smart assistants and smart security were impressive, then you’ll love smart lighting. Being able to turn on or off any light in your home using just your voice is a luxury no one ever thought would happen. Wake up with soft lighting and combine it with your favourite music or radio station to make mornings a little easier. You can even turn your lights on and off when you aren’t home. Going on holidays? Make it look like you are home and control your lights from anywhere in the world. However, smart lighting is more than just about clever light bulbs. The latest range of designs means your lights can be a fixture of any room, with all kinds of adjustable patterns and displays. You can even hang them on your wall like a piece of art. Your imagination is the only limit to your creativity.

Prices you won’t believe

The greatest thing about having a smart home, and all the gadgets that come with it, isn’t just the technology itself. It’s also the prices. Everything is great value, and you don’t have to get it all at once. You can ease into it and see how simple it is to use before taking the next steps. And with the hottest deals, great range and the best advice, JB can help you every step of the way. As Australia’s largest home entertainment retailer, we know our stuff. Come into any of our stores and our staff will walk and talk you through all our smart home technology and show you how easy it is to use, and how affordable it is to buy.

Until it all goes wrong and nobody knows how to resolve the issues or there is no power. Anyone remember the movie Electric Dreams and what Edgar did to the place that he had full control over?

This all sounds wondeful. What the ‘sponsored’ content AKA advertisement doesn’t say is that all these technolgiies collect every little bit of info about you for Google, Apple etc. They know who you are, who lives with you, contact details, where you go, when you come home, what car you own, what music you play, what food you buy and which bills you pay and when etc. This data can then be on-sold to which ever companies they choose and you can’t do anything about it.

Seriously ????? so how does it save the cost on the energy bill, not to mention the cost of setting it all up. We all know how we got conned into getting solar panels for a measly .08c per unit return. They are leading us all up the garden path of the treadmill of dependency.
