Three tablets under $200

Looking to purchase a tablet that won’t break your bank balance? Drew identifies three tablets that will fulfil all your needs at under $200.

Lenovo Tab 7 Essential
One of the lightest tablets on the market (weighing in at just 254 grams), the Tab 7 delivers a pure Android experience through the power of a quad-core processor system.

At $99 including GST and delivery, this is the perfect tablet for those starting out.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite 7.0 T113
A budget tablet from a big-name producer, the wifi-enabled Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 comes fitted with a dual core processor, 2MP rear-facing camera and video call capabilities.

At just $139, it's the most affordable brand-name tablet on the market.

Lenovo 10" Tab10

Sneaking into the category at just under $200, the Lenovo 10” Tab 10 is a large screen tablet featuring both a front and rear-facing camera and strong processing power for those on a budget. The Tab10 is a fantastic upgrade option from the Tab 7 and is the best budget tablet currently available on the market.

    My view of these three:
Lenovo 7 - best of the three as it has Android 7.0 Nougat
Lenovo 10 - 2nd pick, it has Android 6 Marshmallow
Samsung Tab 3 - forget it, it only has Android 4.4 Kitkat
All 3 only have 1Gb Ram which means you will soon run out of memory if you install lots of programs. The Lenovo Android 7.0 tablet is the best bet here as if you put a microSD card in it, you can force some programs to relocate onto the SD card rather than taking up main memory space. Older versions of Android do not allow this. Not all programs however are written well enough to allow this. If you go for the older version of Android (4.4) then you can expect to run into issues with some apps not running on the older version of Android.

I have a Samsung Tab A that has Andriod version 7.1.1 and it cost me $199. Also got a bigger one and it's hopeless compared to the Samsung.
