Discover a whole world online

Looking @2.0 is a free, online beginners course presented by the State Library of Queensland, designed to help you navigate through the world of online technologies. Keep up with your kids, find new resources and discover a whole world online.

With some great prizes up for grabs to Queensland residents, including iPads, digital cameras, an iPod touch and more, jump online, have a go and learn a bit about 2.0.

The course is broken up into eleven modules, each focusing on a theme. You’re free to complete any or all the module that takes your interest – whether that be learning how to start your own blog, chatting with friends via Facebook and Skype, discovering how to share your photos online, starting a blog, or exploring the world of online games.

Each module provides you with some background information, activities to get you thinking, a short quiz to test your understanding and a set of links and resources for you to explore further. It’s a self-paced course so you can go as fast or as slow as you like.

Feedback from past participants:

“Looking @2.0 opened up a whole new world for me – teaching me things I’d heard of but didn’t understand, and learning about entirely new things. It has made me lust for more knowledge and given me the confidence to explore things myself.”

“I enjoyed the fact that I could learn things I wanted to learn in my own time and at my own pace, and could go further in my learning if I wished.”
